"William May’s book, Once Upon  a Crisis, is a very good read. It is not the typical “cop” book with wild stories but one which demonstrates what a police officer (and Police Chief) encounters in real life working in that profession. I especially enjoyed the “aftermath” sections following each vignette of a crisis he dealt with.
